Azospirillum brasilense Associative nitrogen fixing bacteria/slightly anaerobic is a Gram-negative, nitrogen-fixing bacterium that colonizes the rhizosphere of various grasses and cereals. This strain has one of the largest genomes in the phylum Proteobacteria. Each cell possesses two sets of flagellar systems: a polar flagellum and lateral flagella, and expresses them depending on the growth conditions.
